London, 15 February 2024 - The World Cement Association (WCA) is working to support the roll-out of the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) by joining its stakeholder communication campaign.
London, 15 December 2023 - The World Cement Association's (WCA) Founder and Director, Emir Adiguzel, delivered a grounbreaking keynote speech at the 14th Cement EXPO by delving into the complex interplay between globally announced net-zero policies, emission targets, and economic realities facing emerging markets in the cement industry.
The WCA Innovation Award 2023 was awarded to Huaxin Cement’s Huangshi Plant for their "Development and Application of Low Carbon and Nitrogen Reduction Ultra Large Scale Cement Production Technology and Equipment" project.
22 April 2022 - The World Cement Association is calling on cement companies in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to take action, as the world’s attention is set on decarbonisation efforts in the region in light of upcoming COP27 in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt and 2023’s COP28 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. All eyes are on the commitments and actions of the region’s oil and gas sector; however, cement manufacturing in MENA is also significant, making up around 15% of the world’s total production.
