In 2025, CCUS is rapidly advancing across Europe as a critical solution for decarbonizing energy-intensive industries. Supported by EU policy and national strategies, key countries like Norway, the Netherlands, and the UK are developing large-scale projects and cross-border infrastructure, particularly around North Sea storage. Industrial clusters are emerging as hubs for shared CO₂ capture and storage, signaling a shift toward commercialization despite ongoing challenges around cost, permitting, and public perception.
