WCA President & CNBM Chairman Song Zhiping

Song Zhiping is the President of the World Cement Association, Chairman of China Association for Public Companies, Chairman of China National Building Materials Group Corporation Limited (CNBM), President of China Enterprise Reform and Development Society, Academician of World Academy of Productivity Science. Mr. Song has over 40 years of business and management experience and 33 years of experience in charge of large-scale enterprises. In his term as the Chairman of both CNBM and Sinopharm, the two groups entered the Fortune Global 500.

Mr. Song invented and practiced several unique business models and Harvard Business School wrote a case study of his restructuring of Chinese cement enterprises.

Chairman of China Cement Association since 2019, Chairman of Anhui Conch since 2015. Prior to that he held a series of senior posts in government, many of which were focused on industry policy and regulation. He was the Party Secretary of Wuhu City, Anhui Province in 2011 – 2012 and a representative of the 18th National People's Congress of the Communist Party of China.

From 2014 to 2019 Ian Riley was Greater China Country Head for LafargeHolcim. From 2006 to 2014 Ian was a member of the Huaxin management team, responsible from 2011 for international business, strategy, business development and sustainability and previously for equipment manufacture, safety and SAP implementation. Ian was responsible for Huaxin’s first overseas venture in Tajikistan.

Before joining Huaxin, Ian worked in the construction and industrial minerals industries in Shanghai the UK, the USA, Australia and Japan. He is a former Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai and joins WCA as CEO on September 1, 2019.
